- I began the AD journey with my Mother in September 2002 and began working part-time in May 2003 to February 2004 so I could become a part-time caregiver. I took early retirement on 3/1/2004 to become a 24/7 caregiver to my Mother. That chosen path ended 8/10/2007. I have no doubt my 30 plus years in social services prepared me to become my Mother's caregiver. I believe God placed us on what was to become our shared spiritual journey.
